Strengthening Institutional Resilience, Nurturing the Power of Conservation Teams

Institutional resilience strengthening efforts in Ujung Kulon National Park continue to be advanced. This initiative emphasizes the importance of counseling and coaching as means to enhance the capacity and adaptive abilities of conservation teams in the area.

From October 11–14, 2025, Conservation Synergies, represented by Alastair Nelson, conducted a situational assessment in Ujung Kulon National Park. The activity aimed to understand the context and needs of conservation teams in developing institutional strengthening programs through counseling and coaching approaches.

The situational assessment was carried out through field visits to gather firsthand information from members actively working on the ground. This process involved not only the staff of Ujung Kulon National Park but also conservation partners actively engaged in the area. Such an approach is expected to provide a more comprehensive understanding of the real challenges faced in conservation management in the field.

Conservation Synergies is an organization that provides services supporting governments, donors, NGOs, and other partners to view problems and issues from new perspectives and to learn from experts across various fields. Conservation Synergies builds systems that emphasize organizational and individual values, ethics, and purpose to deliver long-term conservation impact and help make the world a better place.
This collaboration is supported by Save the Rhino International as part of the ongoing efforts to conserve the Javan rhino.
