ALeRT Visit to BKSDA Bengkulu

At the invitation of BKSDA Bengkulu, Aliansi Lestari Rimba Terpadu (ALeRT), together with the Yayasan Konservasi Elang Indonesia (YKEI), had the opportunity to present a grant proposal under the CONSERVE Seblat Landscape program, entitled “Data and Documentation Compilation of Wildlife Diversity with Ecotourism Potential in TWA Seblat.”

Through this initiative, we aim to highlight the potential of wildlife—especially the Sumatran elephant—as an ecotourism attraction that supports both conservation and local communities. This marks an initial step toward promoting biodiversity- and culture-based ecotourism.

With accurate data, the development of nature-based tourism can be designed sustainably: supporting ecosystem balance, providing educational value, and creating economic benefits for surrounding communities. It is our hope that iconic species like the Sumatran elephant can serve as a gateway to nature tourism that prioritizes both the environment and the people.

Ecotourism is not just about travel. It is a space for education, a driver of local economies, and a pillar of conservation.

One small step toward harmony between nature conservation and sustainable tourism. May this be the start of new inspiration to protect, cherish, and celebrate nature—together.
