Ujung Kulon National Park, in collaboration with ALeRT, conducted a SMART Profiles training for staff responsible for data collection and management. SMART Profiles is a feature within the SMART Patrol application that allows for more in-depth recording and analysis of information about individuals, groups, or entities. This tool helps rangers identify relationships between entities and analyze trends or patterns of activity, enabling more targeted and effective interventions.
The training was led by James Slade and Calum Ryan from Re:Wild, who have extensive experience supporting the implementation of SMART Patrol in various countries.
Through this training, it is hoped that field staff can better utilize data for decision-making and strengthen protection strategies in Ujung Kulon.
Ultimately, this capacity-building effort aims to contribute to the long-term preservation of the Javan Rhino and its habitat.
