To enhance the development of knowledge about the flora of Ujung Kulon National Park, the Ujung Kulon National Park Authority, in collaboration with IPB University and Aliansi Lestari Rimba Terpadu, officially launched a book titled “Seed Plants of Ujung Kulon National Park” on November 21, 2025.
This book marks an important step in expanding scientific references and broadening insights into the diversity of seed plants found within the Ujung Kulon landscape. Compiled together with dendrology and ecology experts from the Faculty of Forestry and Environment of IPB, this publication also stands as the first comprehensive vegetation guide for the park, providing scientific nomenclature that was previously unavailable and often replaced by local names that were difficult to verify.
Inside, readers will find results of field exploration, scientific documentation, and descriptive information that can serve as a valuable reference for researchers, students, conservation managers, and the general public.
The launch of this book reflects a concrete cross-institutional collaboration to support conservation efforts grounded in scientific knowledge, as well as an educational framework that strengthens general understanding of Ujung Kulon National Park and builds public awareness for sustainable nature protection.
It is hoped that this work will open new learning opportunities, increase awareness, and strengthen shared commitment in safeguarding the biological wealth of Ujung Kulon for the future.
