Meet the White-winged Duck! The Excitement of Kids Learning to Care for Nature

On November 6, 2025, Way Kambas National Park, together with the Alliance of Integrated Forest Conservation (ALeRT), held a conservation education activity about the White-winged Duck (Asarcornis scutulata) at SDN 1 Tegal Ombo — one of the buffer villages located north of Way Kambas National Park, directly bordering the Toto Projo Resort.

Conservation education and awareness-raising are among the activities included in ALeRT’s Annual Work Plan. As the only partner consistently implementing awareness programs, ALeRT’s support for conservation education has been warmly welcomed by the Way Kambas National Park Authority. The park management has directed that these educational activities be carried out in different locations each year to ensure conservation awareness reaches all buffer villages.

This activity is a small but meaningful step toward nurturing a young generation that cares deeply about wildlife and the preservation of Indonesia’s natural heritage.
