Integrated Prevention Model (IPM) Training

On May 27, 2025, an intensive training session was held at the SPTN II hall of Ujung Kulon National Park Authority (BTNUK), bringing together staff from BTNUK, ALeRT, and Yabi. The focus of this training was capacity building in the application of the Integrated Prevention Model (IPM).

The IPM approach is based on problem-solving theory, emphasizing prevention, detection, and response to threats such as poaching and other illegal activities. It promotes the active use of field data to understand patterns, adjust strategies, and enhance the effectiveness of on-the-ground actions. The IPM training was led directly by Dr. Andrew Lemieux from LEAD Conservation, who has been extensively involved in the development of this method across various conservation areas around the world.
